Plant-based matcha smoothie


Packed with antioxidants and polyphenolic compounds, Matcha hastrong anti-inflammatory effects. The anti-inflammatory compounds in matcha are called catechins and are specific to antioxidants found in teas and matcha can have up to 137 times more catechins compared to normal tea leaves. A 2016 study showed that participants with non-alcoholic liver disease who, were give 500mg of the tea extract found in matcha for 90 days, had a significant reduction in liver enzyme. Elevated levels of liver enzymes are not a good sign as they signify liver damage. Matcha could also help with boosting brain function and energy levels as it contains a compound called L-theanine. This specific compound can promote alertness and increase alpha wave activity in the brain which may help decrease stress levels. Because matcha is so nutrient dense and packs a powerful flavour punch a little goes a long way! Why not try out this matcha drink to experience some of the benefits of matcha. 



  • 1 tbs matcha powder 
  • 1 cup oat milk 
  • ½ cup frozen mango 
  • ½ frozen banana 
  • Handful of kale 
  • ½ lime juice 
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
